The Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has invited offline applications for the post of Registrar on a deputation basis. This is a senior administrative role offering a Level-12 pay scale and the opportunity to contribute to the institutional governance of one of India’s premier astronomical research centers located in Nainital. Eligible officers from Central/State Governments or Autonomous Bodies with significant administrative and financial experience can apply before 15 March 2026. The post is initially for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance and institutional requirements.

Postgraduate Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in general administration, finance and accounts, establishment, stores & purchase in senior positions in Govt/PSU/Research Institutions/Universities.
Officers must:
Hold an analogous post on a regular basis, OR
Have 10 years’ service in Pay Level 10 or above (with 3 years in Pay Level 11/equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in any of the following: Law, HR Management, Financial Management, Logistics Management, Industrial Relations.
Working knowledge of Civil Works and computer-aided management systems.
